Semester 1 - G1DAN
Exploring the components of dance
Students are introduced to:
- Practical & theoretical dance lessons
- Manipulating the elements of dance
- Skills and Techniques for different genres, including commercial Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop
- Performance qualities
- Dance Language
Semester 2 – G2DAN
Dance as entertainment
Students are introduced to:
- How dance functions as entertainment
- Sade Dance Practice and Fitness for a Dancer
- Skills and Techniques
- Various genres including Lyrical, Broadway and/or Hip Hop
- Design concepts and Technologies e.g. costumes
- Performance at Mindarie Senior College Dance Night
