Course Outline
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to computer systems, covering key concepts related to hardware, software, and networking. Students will learn about the role of hardware components within a computer, including the essential parts needed to build one. They will also gain knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques to ensure the optimal functioning of computer systems.
Additionally, the course provides practical skills in working with database and spreadsheet software packages, which are vital tools for managing and organizing data effectively. Students will have the opportunity to learn simple programming using GameMaker, a user-friendly software, as well as Python, a versatile programming language. Moreover, they will learn how to configure a basic home network, enabling them to set up and connect devices within their own network environment.
