2021 Sustainability Expo
On Thursday, 12 August the College held the annual ‘Sustainability Expo’ showcasing the Year 11 ATAR Health Studies student work as well as stalls from external organisations.
This was the eighth year the College has held the expo recognising the importance of sustainability, our personal responsibility to be global citizens and it celebrates our contribution to ensuring a more sustainable future for everyone.
MSC teachers Mrs Kate Bishop and Mrs Michelle Stenner ran a stall Bees Wax Wraps and Mrs Jayne Hemsley held an ‘Upcycle’ stall.
Through the Expo the College has created many partnerships within the community such as:
City of Wanneroo, Sothern Metropolitan Regional Council, Conservation Council of WA, Animal Ark, South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare, Nearer to Nature, Bunnings, Sea Shepherd, West Oz Wildlife and Urban Indigenous WA and Clean State.
Kinross College and Kinross Primary School both had stalls at the expo this year. Kinross College have been long-standing exhibitors producing wonderful displays for our students to explore and engage with. This year they upcycled items from Tamala Park.
The College would like to thank Sharon Wood Kenney who opened the Expo with an Acknowledgement to Country. We would also like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Kylie Windle who organised the expo at while only one week away from finishing at the College due to being pregnant. We wish Kylie well on her next exciting adventure.
Sustainability is a cross-curricular priority and is embedded into all Courses students’ study at the College! It was great to see all MSC students and staff engage with the exhibitors to help become more aware of how to be sustainable.
