2020 R U OK Day – 10 September
Another successful R U OK Day has come and gone.
‘R U OK Day’ is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation, founded in 2009 which advocates for people to have conversations with other to make sure they are doing OK.
Today staff wore yellow R U OK shirts and donned R U OK badges while students were encouraged to wear something yellow to show their support of the day.
The Student Services team put together a fun filled afternoon for the students and staff with activities from Monster Ball Amusements, as well as Sue’s Barn Petting Zoo, two playful puppies from Animal Companions, a sausage sizzle and live music performed by MSC Music students.
Proceeds from the Free Dress day and sausage sizzle will be donated to the Patricia Giles Centre.
Today’s event is another way the College encourages students to be mentally healthy by being active, having a sense of belonging, and having a purpose in life which all contributes to good mental health.

Have you asked someone if they are OK today?
A big thank you to everyone involved ensuring a positive and fun day for all and to the Library staff for creating another wonderful display.
