2025 World’s Greatest Shave

This week, we took part in our 11th World’s Greatest Shave, an inspiring event dedicated to raising funds and awareness for leukaemia research and support. Students, teachers, and staff all came together to show their solidarity with those battling blood cancers by shaving, cutting, and colouring their hair, all in the name of a great cause.

Organised by Student Services with assistance on the day by our Student Councillors, this year’s event was a massive success, raising over $3,500 so far! The money raised will go directly to the Leukaemia Foundation, supporting vital research into blood cancer, as well as offering care and services to families in need.

A Day of Courage and Compassion

Participants bravely volunteered to cut or shave their hair in front of the school community, and some even added a splash of colour to their locks. Students who joined in shared that their motivation came from a deep desire to help those facing leukaemia and other blood cancers.

Teachers also joined the fun, supporting their students with smiles and encouragement.

Fundraising Activities and Community Support

Throughout the day, the fundraising efforts didn’t stop at haircuts. Student Councillors ran a sausage sizzle and stalls offering hair colouring and waxing and our talented music students provided the entertainment and performed some amazing tunes during the event.

The generosity from our school community was overwhelming, and it’s safe to say that everyone had a great time contributing to the cause.

Looking to the Future

This year’s event was so successful that we’re already looking ahead to next year! We hope to continue raising awareness and funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, and we can’t wait to see even more students, teachers, and staff getting involved.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported the event. Together, we’ve proven that even small acts can make a big difference in the lives of others.
