2020 Sustainability Expo
On Thursday, 13 August the College held its annual ‘Sustainability Expo’ with amazing student work being showcased from Year 11 ATAR Health Studies and many other courses.
Sustainability is a cross-curricular priority and is embedded into all Courses students’ study at the College. This is the seventh year the College has held the expo recognising the importance of sustainability, our personal responsibility to be global citizens and celebrates our contribution to ensuring a more sustainable future for everyone.
Through the Expo, the College has created many partnerships with external community organisations such as City of Wanneroo, Tamala Park, Earth Carers, Department of Parks and Wildlife, Urban Indigenous, West Oz Wildlife, Native Animal Rescue and a number of private organisations. Kinross College have also been long-standing exhibitors at our Expo, producing wonderful displays for our students to explore and engage with.”
The College would like to thank Rhys Paddick who opened the Expo with an Acknowledgement to Country and our College Board members, Chair – Mayor Tracey Roberts, Vice Chair – Mr Wrolf van Munster, College Board Member and ECU Vice Chancellor – Professor Steve Chapman and Member for Burns Beach – Mr Mark Folkard MLA, who all took time out of their busy schedules to attend and interact with the students and displays.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Mrs Elise Gaglio who organised the expo at eight weeks pregnant. Elise’s last day at work was the day after the expo!! Her commitment and passion to sustainability and the expo over the last seven years has been amazing. The College will continue to make sustainability a priority into the future.
